Semi-Permanent makeup By Sandy

Eyebrows Microblading

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow procedure that is carried out by a qualified technician using a specialist hand-tool which holds disposable microblades.

How does it work?

The required pigment is deposited into the superficial dermis of the skin with the disposable microblade which allows the technician to create bespoke, crisp hair strokes which look like natural eyebrow hair.

How does it differ from semi permanent tattooing?

Microblading differs from conventional semi-permanent tattooing by the very fact that it is a manual procedure. When using a hand held micro blade, the colour is deposited closer to the surface than when a machine is used leaving very fine and crisp hair strokes with no spilling under the skin.

How long does the pigmentation last?

Microblading tends to last between 18-36 months and after this period of time may need a colour boost or refresh.

Does it hurt?

Like all semi-permanent procedures microblading will require a topical anesthetic which can be topped up throughout the procedure making it relatively painless.

Microblading also referred to as 3D Brow Embroidery or Microstroking is the best alternative to makeup or even other permanent makeup procedures. It looks very natural, and yields natural, crisp strokes that give the illusion of real hair. Microblading for eyebrows is the NEW semi-permanent tattoo.

A metal hand tool with fine needles is used to create, crisp hair-like strokes. A custom blended pigment is then implanted into the skin’s surface (about 1mm). Microblading will generally last to 1 to 3 years (results will vary depending on the clients exposure to sun, resistance to pigment and skin regimen).
This method is great for anyone wanting to enhance or reconstruct the look of their brows! No more smudged brows and no more spending 20 minutes stressing every morning trying to make them right!

Microblading / 3D Brow Embroidery is perfect for the following:

Hair loss or lack of definition

Thin brows caused by years of over tweezing

Chemotherapy or Alopecia

Correcting asymetry

Active lifestyles

Trouble with or tired of applying conventional makeup

What to expect:

When you arrive, your brow technician will do a short consultation with you and apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area. She will then draw in your brows using a makeup pencil so you can have an idea of how your eyebrows will look.Over the next hour, fine hair-like strokes will then be added to the skin using a sterile, disposable blade. You may initially feel a bit of discomfort in the beginning but this will subside pretty quickly.

A custom blended pigment will then be applied to the area and left on for 15 minutes. After wiping off the pigment, the technician will inspect your brows and make additions if necessary.

The next few days your brows will go on a bit of a ride. You’ll wake up on day 2 and your brows will be darker than you would expect. Don’t panic! This is part of the healing process and you’ll notice they start to lighten on Day 3.

Rinse your brows with water only, try and keep your face dry in the shower and you’ll heal much faster and pigment loss will be minimal.

On day 4 or 5, depending on how quickly your brows are healing, you may feel a bit itchy, DO NOT scratch them, just reapply some good-ole coconut oil!

By day 10, your brows should be pretty much healed! In approximately 30-45 days, you’ll want to book in for a touch-up appointment. This is included in your initial service. The technician will fill in area that may have lost pigment or any areas that need to be filled in.

FAQs

How long does it take?

Treatment times vary depending on the procedure and each persons individual needs. I never book appointments back to back and will spend whatever time is needed to create the perfect brows, lips or eyeliner. Most treatments will take between one and two hours.

How long does it last?

There are many factors that affect how long a semi-permanent makeup treatment will last.Generally darker colours will remain visible in your skin for longer than lighter colours. Things like sun exposure, swimming, smoking, medications, skin rejuvenation creams and each person’s individual rate of skin exfoliation will also affect how long the treatment will last. Most people will need a top up every 2 to 4 years

Does it hurt?

Numbing creams are used before and during each procedure to minimize any discomfort. On a scale of 1-10 most people rate the pain as 0-3 and describe it as a scratching or tingling sensation.

What is the recovery time?

Most people will be quite happy to carry on with their normal routine after a treatment so there is no down-time as such but you may experience some swelling and scabbing. The full healing process takes 3 to 4 weeks for your skin to return completely back to normal.

What should I expect after the treatment?

You may experience minor swelling immediately after the treatment but this should subside within 24 hours. For 3-7 days the colour will appear quite dark and exact but then as the healing layers of skin exfoliate, the colour will lighten significantly. During this time the colour can almost disappear but don’t worry this is completely normal and is due to it being difficult to see the pigment through the layers of skin that are coming away. After this period (3 to 4 weeks) the colour will start to come back and you will see the finished result. If it is still too light then a darker colour can be chosen for your re-touch.

Is there anything that I need to do before or after the treatment?

There is nothing that you need to do before the treatment but there are some things that you will
need to avoid after. For 2 weeks, you will need to avoid sun beds, strong sunlight, swimming, saunas, steam baths, very hot showers, certain skin creams and cleansers. You will Uneed to apply Vaseline at least twice daily.
